To help address a time-wasting task for a client, we created a distance calculator customization. The client is a shipping carrier company and calculates shipment distances + time between two points repeatedly during the day. They needed a faster way to do this, so we used Vtiger’s exisiting fields and created a tool.
The distance calculator produces mileage + travel time from Location A to Location B. Users do not have to leave Vtiger and they get near-instant results.
How does the distance calculator function?
1. Enter the two addresses in the module
2. Click the Distance Calculator button
3. The mileage will appear as a message in the upper right-hand corner
