We already have PayPal integration with Vtiger as well as Authorize.net integration with Vtiger. But a client of ours recently asked for us to help them email invoices out to clients with a link embedded that would allow to client to pay by clicking the link and popping open a payment page that connects directly to the merchant. In addition, our client has a franchise system of ownership and their company and needed to have a different merchant account for each franchise.
First we set us the email capability. From the users perspective they open an invoice in Vtiger and click on a widget in the left side widget panel, click the button to send out the invoice via email. A pop up opens to confirm the ‘to’ contact and the email address. It defaults to the linked contact. Then it emails out to the client using a preset email template.
From the customer’s perspective, they receive the email, open the invoice, review it, then click the “Pay Now” link in the email body and a Authorize.net/Paypal window opens and they process the payment direct with the merchant similar to any online transaction. The client sees a confirmation page. A confirmation email is sent to he client. A detailed record of the transaction is stored in the vtgier invoice record.
We create a special setting page that allowed the senior (hierarchical) user for each franchise to set up their merchant account so the funds are deposited in their account. In addition, each franchise is able to set their own email template the goes with the invoice/request to pay.
